UPSC NDA I 2021 Notification:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has rolled out a notification for National Defense Academy & Naval Academy Exam (l) 2021. As per the notice issues, the UPSC NDA l 2021 exam will be held on 18 April 2021. The eligible candidates from the examination will be selected for recruitment to the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force Wing.
Online applications will commence from 30 December 2020, and eligible candidates can apply by 19 January. The application will only be accepted through the online form available on the official website.
The total number of posts will be released in the notification. On the basis of earlier examinations, the application fee may be Rs.100/- for candidates of unreserved category and free for reserved candidates.
Candidates who will submit their application successfully will be called for UPSC NDA 1 Exam which is scheduled to be held on 18 April 2021.
Last year, there was a total of 418 vacancies. Out of which 370 were for the National Defence Academy and 48 are for Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme).

UPSC NDA 2021 Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- For Army Wing of National Defence Academy:—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy:—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
NDA Eligibility Criteria Based On Age Limit:
- For NDA 2, candidates must have born not earlier than January 2, 2002, and not later than January 1, 2005.
- For NDA 1, candidates should be born not earlier than July 2, 2001, and not later than July 1, 2004.
- The commission will accept the date of birth that is entered in Class 10 or 12 certificates.
- Candidates need to submit these certificates after the declaration of the result of the written exam.
UPSC NDA Physical Standard:
- Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2021.
Nationality:
- A candidate must be an unmarried male and must be :
- A citizen of India or
- A subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to the above categories and shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
UPSC NDA 2021 Selection Procedure:
The selection will be done on the basis of performance in Written Test (900 Marks) and SSB Interview/Personality Test (900 Marks).
